   The group of concerned taxpayers continue to voice their concerns to the Commissioners Court, most recently through a letter from taxpayer Roxana Maldonado-Guerra.

A group of Maverick County taxpayers who submitted a petition with 1,488 signatures to impede the Maverick County Commissioners Court from proceeding to issue out $8.5 Million in Certificates of Obligation (CO’s) received what they so desired on Friday, February 17.

A group of registered voters in Maverick County contacted The News Gram on January 17, stating that they had signed the tax rate rollback petition, but were among the registered voters that had been crossed out off the list, indicating that the Maverick County Elections Office claimed their signatures were invalid.
